USA: Catholics make up 28% of Congressmen, 38% of Governors and two-thirds of the Supreme Court – Michael Knowles

…US Political Commentator, author and media host Michael Knowles insists that Catholics who make up a little over 20 percent of the US population continue to shape political life and culture.

American conservative political commentator Michael Knowles has disclosed that Catholics from Congress to the governor’s mansion to the Supreme Court are not only present in American public life but also help shape it.

Speaking at the 2026 National Catholic Prayer Breakfast, the author and media host made the point that “Catholics today make up a little over 20 percent of the US population.”

According to him, “we make up 28 percent of Congressmen, 38 percent of governors, and at least two-thirds of the Supreme Court.”

In the coming years, Knowles assured, “We will hit 78 percent of the Supreme Court whenever we drag justice courses back across the Tiber…”

Citing James David Vance, the member of the Republican Party who represented Ohio in the United States Senate from 2023 to 2025, who currently serves as the 50th vice president of the United States, the media personality maintained, “Not only is this is the sitting vice president Catholic but every presently viable candidate for President in 2028 of both parties is a baptised Catholic.”

He surmised that “Few of our forefathers could have predicted it. Only a firm faith and providence could have permitted it and yet, here we find ourselves, a quarter of a millennium later, a people and a place, so improbably and perfected for each other that not only a Catholic can become president, but an American can be the pope.”
