Award-winning American artist Shakira officially invites Ugandan Ghetto Kids to perform with her at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final halftime show

In a phenomenal life-changing experience, award-winning American artist Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll has officially invited the Ghetto Kids to perform with her during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final halftime show.

The world is set to watch another epic performance by the upcoming stars, formerly known as Triplets Ghetto Kids, since their last dramatic appearance at the 2023  Britain’s Got Talent Series 16.

The Ghetto Kids are a world-famous Ugandan dance and music group composed of children from the Katwe slums in Kampala, Uganda.

Ghetto Kids’ “Dai Dai” sparked the collabo with Shakira

The Spanish/Colombian singer, songwriter, dancer, and record producer confirmed the personal invitation in an Instagram video, explaining that she was deeply moved by the viral dance videos of the Ugandan troupe.

The 49-year-old superstar affirmed that the invitation came after their energetic choreography video for the tournament’s official anthem, “Dai Dai” (featuring Burna Boy), went viral.

Ghetto Kids: Mission and Foundation

Inspired and founded in 2014 by choreographer and philanthropist Dauda Kavuma, who disclosed that the foundation was inspired by his own childhood experiences of living on the streets of Kampala, the Inspire Ghetto Kids Foundation houses around 30 children, operating as a tight-knit family.

The Ghetto Kids bring their infectious energy and viral choreography to life in official performance videos, using dance as a vehicle for empowerment, self-belief, and building a sustainable future.

The non-profit NGO and orphanage also uses music and drama to provide shelter, education and healthcare to disadvantaged, street, and orphaned children.

The Ghetto Kids foundation—which supports orphaned and disadvantaged street children in Kampala—celebrated the milestone online, calling it a historic cultural win for Uganda and Africa.

Accolades, Milestones

The kids made a viral breakthrough in 2014 when they first shot to global internet stardom after appearing in a viral, homemade dance video for Eddy Kenzo’s hit song “Sitya Loss.”

It would be recalled that in 2017, the group gained massive American and international exposure when they featured in French Montana’s multi-platinum music video for “Unforgettable.”

In a major global spotlight, in 2023, the team made television history on Britain’s Got Talent Series 16 when they received a rare “mid-audition” Golden Buzzer from judge Bruno Tonioli, finishing in 6th place.

The world awards another epic performance by the African performers in a collabo with global superstar Shakira, who invited them to perform with her during the 2026 FIFA World Cup halftime show.
