4 Suspects of Angwan-Rukuba, Jos Deadly Attacks in Custody as Plateau State Begins Prosecution

Following the recent terror attacks in Angwan-Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, central Nigeria, which left over 30 people dead, the state has initiated prosecutions against four suspects in connection with the Sunday, 29 March 2026, attack.

For families of victims, Justice seems to be on the way as Plateau State has begun legal proceedings involving the primary defendants who have been arrested.

Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, had assured that “The cycle of violence must end… There will be no more hiding spots for those who deal in death.”

While Isa Umar Ibrahim, Awolu Abubakar (alias ‘Awolu Dogo’), and Musa Abubakar Ibrahim (alias ‘Yaro Oro’) are facing charges of criminal conspiracy and terrorism, Adamu Issa Al-Hassan is being charged with more grievous allegations, which include culpable homicide, illegal possession, and firearms dealing.

The suspects who were arrested between April 3-10 at Nangwa-Rukuba, Bokkos, and Bassa axes, respectively.

Others charged with criminal conspiracy and terrorism include Isa Umar Ibrahim, Awolu “Dogo”, Musa “Yaro Oro.”

The Plateau State Attorney General, Philemon Daffi, charged the defendants based on the Plateau State 2017 Penal Code following their arrest in connection with the Angwan-Rukuba massacre.
