“Pray for Peace in Nigeria. Pray because of the Problem which is Coming.” – Excerpts of Our Lady’s Video Message at Aokpe Resurface Online

In the face of relentless killings and abductions plaguing Nigeria, where fear looms large, the viral videos featuring the powerful message of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) from Aokpe, Benue State, North Central Nigeria, are striking a profound chord with countless individuals.

“Pray for peace in Nigeria. Pray because of the problem which is coming. The three days of darkness that is coming. People are still committing sins and new sins are being introduced into the world,” Christiana Agbo said in an Interview.

From the crisp autumn of October 1992 to the warm summer day on July 21, 1993, and then on to the radiant days of August 3 and 4, 1994, the divine presence of Our Lady graced 12-year-old Christiana Agbo with her visions.

These extraordinary apparitions continued to unfold through time, including a significant encounter on March 1, 1995, and a beautiful appearance in May 1996, culminating in a final visit in 2004.

Each moment took place at Aokpe, a sacred ground where the heavens seemed to touch the earth, marking Christiana’s life with profound spiritual significance.

According to her, Our Lady said, “I want all my children to continue attending holy Mass. I am very happy with those who attend holy Mass regularly. Holy Mass leads one to a renewed spirit of prayer. It makes one walk in the light of faith and love. It gives the greatest glory to God.”

Our Lady appeared, revealing herself as the Immaculate Conception

Recounting her mystical experience, the young Lady narrated that when Our Lady appeared to her, “I bowed to her and I said, mother, your peace comes from heaven. Our Lady replied, my peace truly comes from heaven. I am the immaculate conception. I want to be known here as the mediatrix of graces.”

Further describing her apparition, Christiana had this to say about the Blessed Virgin Mary: “She is all beautiful, quite tall; she is so young and her eyes are shining so bright and well-shaped.”

Regarding what she was wearing, the visionary said, “She wore white but no pure white. She had an inner garment and another garment again. She had a cape that reaches to her feet and a cloud that surrounded her feet. And at the back, there is a light shining so bright. And there are two things raining down at the back – one is white, another one is red, but both [are] too thick.”

The Visionary, Dr. Christiana Inebu Agbo-Ejeh, now an accomplished Educationalist

Now known as Dr. Christiana Inebu Agbo-Ejeh, is the first Barrister from her hometown of Ugbokolo to earn a PhD in Commercial Law (International Trade Law) from the University of Cape Town in South Africa in 2022.

With a background in Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Jos, Nigeria and Master of Laws (LLM) in International Economic Law from the University of Warwick, UK, she launched a Book titled “Asymmetric Power Relations and International Trade Law: Legal Analysis of Economic Partnership Agreements” in December 2025.

On what pleases her the most about Our Lady, the Idoma Lady, who is now an Assistant Professor and researcher specialising in international trade and investment law at Nile University of Nigeria, stated, “There were a thousand things that pleased me – her beauty and smile.”

When asked if she heard about other apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary around the world, Fatima, Lourdes, or anywhere before her appearance at Aokpe, the Nigerian visionary answered, “No,” adding that the BVM speaks to her in her native “Idoma a bit of English.”

Our Lady Demands we go to Mass, Pray the Rosary, Embrace Conversion/Penance

“The most important message is prayer, especially the rosary, conversion to God, do penance and also to fast,” Christian maintained.

As regards the most important prophecy, she underlined that “the most important is the punishment from God for the whole world if they do not change.

“The distinctive prophecy is the great darkness which Our Lady says is going to last for 72 hours, and in the end, she described it all as a catastrophe.”

“My biggest privilege is that she helped me to love Jesus with all my heart. The message I have is to pray, go to Mass, and to love Jesus with all their hearts through the heart of Mary” she said.

On his part, her parish priest at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, Aokpe, Fr. John Beirne, “suggested to her [Christiana] that she should ask Our Lady if she had a special message for me” in another video.

“Build a Shrine for Me,” Emulate Jesus’ Sacrifice

The Visionary replied that Our Lady said, “Tell Fr. John Beirne to come and build a shrine for me.”

In his response to sceptics or those doubting the apparition, Fr. Beirne, an Irish missionary, maintained that “The mistake in this life is that they think that it is this life that matters. That’s the big mistake.

“They don’t worry about the next. And incredibly, they think there is no God.”

He lamented that while people easily identify who made a church, they mistakenly believe that “the universe which exists, concerning who made it is evolution.

“What we have to remember too is that Jesus Christ, as God, came not to enjoy himself. Jesus came to suffer, to be crucified and every time we go to mass, it is the repetition of the same sacrifice.”

Fr. Beirne confirmed that at “Our Lady said at Aokpe that it is the Mass that gives the grace, glory to God.“
