In his 2026 Easter message, the British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, has stressed: “that for many people this Easter comes at a time of uncertainty, with global events causing real anxiety for families and communities.”

Citing the influence of Christian civilisation on time and history, the Labour Party Leader disclosed that “For centuries, Christians have profoundly shaped our society.”

He noted that “Today, Churches continue to be at the forefront of movements for social justice and community transformation. I deeply appreciate the efforts of Christians everywhere to bring people together and build stronger and more resilient communities.”

Starmer, however, expressed appreciation, saying, “I am grateful to the many churches across the nation working to combat poverty, fear and isolation. Supporting people and easing cost of living pressures are my top priorities.”

In the message, the UK leader underlined that “as Lent draws tcomes to an end, “I want to send Easter greetings to Christians in the UK and around the world.”

He explained that “Easter is a profoundly important moment in the Christian calendar – a time to reflect on Christ’s sacrifice, and to celebrate the hope, renewal, and promise of new life at the heart of the resurrection story.”

Touching on Church-civil relations, the 63-year-old leader underscored, “I know that it is by working in partnership with churches and communities across the country we can build a Britain for all.”
