“Eyewitness reports that in some areas the Military has been aiding the Fulani Ethnic Militia on the attacks against Christians,” American Missionary, Judd Saul claims

The Executive Director of Equipping the Persecuted, Judd Saul, has decried the ongoing onslaught against Christian populations in Plateau State, central Nigeria, alleging that security agencies aid and abet the killings.

“We have also eyewitness reports that in some areas the military has been aiding the Fulani ethnic militia on the attacks against Christians, and they’re punishing the Christians and laying cover for the Fulani,” Saul alleged.

Speaking in a video obtained by Advocatus Africa, Saul narrated that, “Last night, just outside Barkin Ladi in the Foron district, Fan, a family was murdered outside of their home. A Christian family was murdered outside of their home.”

“They’re leaving Christians to their own defenses.”

He further disclosed that “today, the villagers and the people from the area set out to bury the family. And while they were in the middle of burying the family, Fulani came out of the bushes and from the hills en masse and started killing people and attacking people at the funeral. One of our reporters almost lost his life today, and he had to run and flee for his life on foot.”

The activist expressed frustration over the killings on the Plateau while suggesting that the people are helpless, without state protection.

“And thank God he survived. But what’s going on right now is they’re planning on attacking all of Barkin Ladi. In fact, Barkin Ladi proper. And in several villages in the area. The killing is ongoing. The Nigerian military is nowhere to be found. We have several eyewitnesses that the military has left the area. They’ve left their forward operating bases.

“And they’re leaving Christians to their own defenses. They’re unarmed. They don’t have AK-47s. They don’t have the machine guns, but the terrorists do, and the army has evacuated the area, and they are not helping the Christians. The attacks are ongoing. The attacks are going on as I speak. The situation is critical. We warned about these attacks about 48 hours ago,” he narrated.

“We knew the Fulani were planning to attack, but the military is evacuated. They’re nowhere to be found.”

The American missionary and humanitarian worker accused the security agencies of complicity in the killings.

“We warned and sent warnings to the local government areas. The police and military were notified that there was movement. We knew the Fulani were planning to attack, but the military is evacuated. They’re nowhere to be found,” he reported.

He insisted that “Something has to be done,” while stressing that “The killing has to stop, and the Nigerian government needs to start protecting its own citizens.”

The advocate for a free and just society suggested that despite the early warning signals given to the government, nothing is done to protect the vulnerable.

“But this is all in the Nigerian government. They’ve been warned. They had advanced warning of these attacks, and nothing has happened,” he claimed.

He urged help for the victims who are wounded, stressing, “we need all the help we can get right now to answer this crisis.

And those of you in the Nigerian government, once again, the blood is on your hands.”

Saul explained, “I’ve already deployed resources, but the killing is continuing. It’s going to take a lot more. So please be in prayer for our persecuted brothers and sisters.

“And those of you in the Nigerian government, once again, the blood is on your hands. And you’re going to have to answer for this.”

The director of equipping the persecuted urged for prayers, disclosed that many are wounded and assured that his organisation is providing support.

“So please be in prayer for our persecuted brothers and sisters that are under attack right now. We’re getting reports of several wounded. We’re doing everything we can. Once the situation settles, we’ll be treating the wounded. We’ll be taking care of them and helping the displaced people from this awful attack and getting food, aid, medicine, whatever we can do to help them out,” he maintained.
