The Executive Governor of Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has congratulated Plateau-born Janet Gavou Pam, over her historic emergence as World and European Champion at the just concluded Women’s 84kg M2 Powerlifting Championship in Oulu, Finland.
In a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Gyang Bere, the Governor described her as “a testament to the indomitable spirit of the Plateau people.”

He lauded her success as “a powerful demonstration of courage, discipline, and resilience, noting that her outstanding performance has brought immense pride to Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole.”
The Governor maintained that her victory shows dedication, faith and institutional support while expressing appreciation to her coaches, handlers and esteemed supporters for their unwavering encouragement.
He pledged to support sports development in the state as a tool for youth empowerment, unity and global acclaim.
“On behalf of the Government and the peace-loving people of Plateau State, the Governor prayed for greater strength, renewed vigour, and even more victories for Janet Gavou Pam in her future competitions, expressing confidence that she will continue to blaze the trail for a new generation of champions from Plateau State,” said he.

The Champion who hails from Fan District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area was applauded for putting Plateau State on the world stage through her ground-breaking human capital development and sporting brilliance.
The Governor also noted “that her success serves as a powerful inspiration to young people, particularly girls, across the State and the nation, proving that no dream is beyond reach when pursued with courage and determination.”
